The Gospel of the Kingdom: Part 3

The Kingdom of God brings to man:

  • Salvation

  • Freedom

  • Forgiveness

  • Righteousness

  • Healing and deliverance

  • Fatherhood

We are called to Stewardship NOT ownership. We are to steward the following:

  • Finances (Luke 19)

  • Environment

  • Time

  • Possessions

It has been said “don’t build a castle when you can build a Kingdom” we build castles. The difference to building a castle and a Kingdom is that castles have a moat to keep people out, Kingdoms have bridges for people to come in. The Kingdom draws a big circle and all are included. You do not try to get in you exclude yourself out!

We that is the people of God are the ambassadors of the Kingdom of God that is we are the representatives or messengers of that kingdom. A representative is one who is delegated to speak or act on behalf of the King.

WHAT ARE THE HALLMARKS OF THIS KINGDOM WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

  • A people who understand the grace of God

  • Family life with family order

  • A people who listen and act to the cry of the poor

  • Social awareness, such as injustice, single parenthood, moral ethics etc

  • Acts with honesty and integrity

  • Understands finance and generosity

  • Encourages entrepreneurial business

  • Has a heart for the nations of the world ( Read Acts 1:8)

  • It is marked by prayer and worship

  • Mentors others, discipleship, apprenticeship

  • The encouragement of the involvement of all, encouraging people to move and live out their destiny

We need to note here that in all of this we are called first to be faithful not successful. Success as we understand it is God’s prerogative. If we are faithful we will be successful but as God understands success.
